About Nizambad !!!
About Nizambad !!!
By saying the word Nizamabad is a dead give away about local
or tourist status. Just pretending to know the names of the streets and land
marks hardly works here. The moment you say Nizaa-maa-baad and not Nizambad the locales eyes will gleam as they found out that
we are not local.
This north western interior district of Telangana is
actually the smallest among sister
districts.Nizambad is a compact district with unusual sights to behold.
One day for the trip & to cover whole of nizambad three
full days is ample time to see what nizambad has to offer. On map
Dichupally,Amoor & Nizambad forms a triangle.
Nizambad in early 1900’s when the railway lane was built by
the Nizam’s king, this station was named after him and it stuck to it since
then called as Nizambad and now it is occupied prominency as important city of
north Telangana.
Journey from Hyderabad!!!!!
Journey from Hyderabad!!!!!
It is 174kms from Hyderabad.climate was pleasant and roads
are pretty good with 4 lanes .we started our journey at 6:00am drove to Medchal
and reached Kamareddy and sooner we are at Dichupally our first destination .On
highway a sign board stating Dichupally
to your left side before reaching Nizambad which is 18kms away .Before reaching
dichupally we cross three toll gates costs around 115,100,95 rupees. We need
take diversion from highway to suburb village .From long distance itself we can
see the Qilla (ruins) on top of the hillock.
It is a sleepy small village . To enter the village a narrow
passage which leads us to travel in mid of the fields. Here we are welcomed by an arched gateway ,we need
to flight 70 steps to reach to the top of the temple.
Story behind this temple is unknown.
The temple has no idols till 1940’s ,some local people have
installed lord rama, sita, lakshman & hanuman here in 1947.Why exactly is
this built is unknown, but locales say it is built in 14th century
A.D during kakatiya rulers.
My devil mind questioned If built by kakatiyas why there
were no idols are installed in temple till 1940’s.
As we step on the top of the hill the temple stands
elegantly .But no one were there at temple so we had darshan from closed grill
door.
We can observe an old fort wall which is in ruin stage .lots
of questions moving in mind which were unanswered like is this fort that’s
why called as Qilla (fort) ramalayam may
be…. No clear history known to anyone.
Qilla Ramalayam:
It is well known as Ramagiri qilla is located on top of the
hillock and gives a very picturesque scene. It is 18kms away from Nizambad falls
on Hyderabad highway. The temple with the lake in the background and also has
40feet victory pillar set high up on a
hillock and built inside a fort.It is made of white and black basalt stone to
resemble the 17th century kakatiyan temples in Warangal.
To the right we can see a mandapa in the middle of water of
the lake.
The temple is small and does not have the resemblances of
south indian temple architecture and it has fine sculptures.
We took a stroll around the temple and observed that major
part of the temple was restored.
We can witness the heavy breeze which gushes out with heavy
sound and gives us pleasant picturesque views.
They arranged some benches outside the temple to sit and relax
and to enjoy scenic beauties all around.
