Road trip Nizamabad part 2 - To soak in to a lazy holiday -Armoor - Siddulagutta

2nd Destination – Armoor Siddula gutta

We headed towards Nizambad ,at one point of place we deviated towards Armoor which is 25kms away from Dichupally & 27kms from Nizambad.

Armoor:

It is a small town to our surprise the hill is a stretch with rocks stacked together which are  black coloured rocky stones and it gives very rare view of beautiful blackstones landscape views. An imaginary thought arouse out of mind ,ourselves imagining  as if we are in coalmines or in some other planet   .This type of hills are found only in armoor and not any of the other villages near by, found it as  very amusing and never seen such type of hillocks .When compared to other hillocks these are completely different .It is a 10km stretch with rocks stacked together . Believed to be formed over a millions of year ago weathering the vagaries of nature.

There is a ghat road thru which we can go to the top of the hill ,Journey along the path was truly adventurous ,breath holding and draws attention.Pay toll gate  tax ten rupees which leads us to the top of the hill.

Here comes Siddula gutta (sages hillock) Navanatha Siddeshwara temple.

At one place to tourists convience, sages idols were placed who welcome us to this place. This place is known as Siddula gutta because these sages were stayed here and done penance for years. As name suggests here nine sages (siddulu) performed their penance.

Story behind was :

Mathyendranath was born to a fish and devotee of lord siva and also disciple to Dathathreya  installed siva lingam on this hill in the cave and started worshiping.

Till temple we can drive our car. Here on 2 sides we see temples .first we took our left side way where we reached the Siddeshwara swamy temple housing lord siva in small cave. Here we find many monkeys beware of them.

Thrilling twist of the place:

These are the caves inside formed under the massive rocks to reach the lord siva’s darshan one has to knee down  and move forward like a crawling child through narrow gaps  of the narrow caves.

We are shocked to see some signs on caves inside mentioning (painted) for devotees to follow queue. My devil mind pinpointed a question… wandering how people may withstand here in queue.

Nine sages:

      1)Mathyendranath

      2)Goraknath

      3)Jalandarnath /janpeer

      4)Gaibipeer

      5)Bharthinath/raja bharatari

      6)Revananath

      7)Charpatnath

      8)Naganath

      9)Kanifnath

Here we come –darshan of the lord siva:

We cannot stand straight here,we always need to bend infront of the lord. Here there are some priests of non-brahmin community who perform pujas. There is another siva lingam in the dark, where the place looks little bit scary and we need to flight 10 steps in narrow passage.

The best part of these caves are they provided electricity for lights inside the cave.

There is a very very less ventilation which usually yogis/sages prefer to stay or in search off.

There is another temple (ramalayam) after coming out of these cave temples housing lord srirama.

Now return journey to Basara from siddulagutta !!!
