Hyderabadis bid adieu to Ganapathi bappa on 15th & 16th September 2016
This year I was very fortunate to have blessings of both the famous Ganesh idols located at balapur & khairatabad on 9th September 2016.This year Ganesh chaturthi fallen on September 5th 2016 and during these days hyderabad city is well famous for making tallest Ganesh idols.Lord Ganesh idol is placed on Vinayaka chaturthi day and daily prayers are offered for 11 days . After 11 days lord ganesh idols are immersed in hussain sagar with grand street processions.This year the immersion took place on 15th September and this date was declared by Telangana Government.

1st visit to Balapur
Ganesh:
Balapur is a suburb located in Hyderabad
outskits famed for the auction of laddu prasadam during vinayaka chaturthi days and it is the first Ganesh idol to start
its immersion programme in Hyderabad.This year balapur laddu auctioned for
14.65 lakhs bought by sky lab Reddy
business man of the village.Out of 24 people participation in the auction main competition
was between Maheshwaram MLA Teegala Krishna Reddy ,Skylab Reddy and local resident Singi Reddy Jaihind Reddy.The bidding started at around 10 am with a minimum bid
amount of 4,116 rupees.
2nd visit to Khairatabad Ganesh:
Khairatabad Ganesh is famous for its height and usually installs at khairatabad ,Hyderabad. The competition in height of the idol started in
2013 to mark the completion of 59 years with 4200 kgs ladoo which is made in a
village called Tapeswaram East Godavari district
by vendor Malli babu.On 11 th day the idol is immersed
in Hussain Sagar lake.The ganesh ladoo in 2015 weighed 6000kgs and idol is 59 feet and 28 feet width and is named as Thrishaktimaya Moksha Ganapathi.In 2016 58 feet height and named as Sri Shakthipeeta
Shivanagendra Maha Ganapathi.
